ABOUT THE EVENT

The hype surrounding artificial intelligence is powerful, and some organizations have been seduced by it. This can be seen as organizations make massive investments using AI on transformative “moonshot” projects. Yet these ambitious AI moonshots often fail to deliver their intended results.

Does this mean AI and cognitive technologies are all hype with no real business value? Not at all. There are plenty of instances where AI is already producing enormous value. However, thus far AI is most successful when used on “low-hanging fruit” projects that enhance existing business processes.

Babson College professor and author Tom Davenport has studied which AI projects are working best and why they are working. On January 30, in a live, interactive HBR webinar, Davenport will share insights and recommendations for AI success. He will discuss:

  • The three types of AI
  • Which approaches to AI are working best (and which aren’t)
  • Which AI and cognitive technologies are being employed
  • Why it is so important to build on current analytical strengths, create a portfolio of projects, and conduct pilots

Davenport will examine what it means to be a cognitive corporation and lay out the steps for companies to get there. He will offer his thoughts on what AI means for the workforce and provide advice for building cognitive capabilities.

If your company is actively pursuing AI or plans to do so, join Tom Davenport and HBR on January 30. You will discover the best real-world approaches to near-term AI success and the most important steps to becoming a cognitive corporation.
